Why visit our Canning Vale chiropractic clinic?
Our bodies are pretty clever. They tell us when something isn't working properly through discomfort, pain or lack of movement. But sometimes it can be hard to tell what’s behind these signs.
You may have hurt your back at the gym or lifting something the wrong way. Maybe the repetitive actions you’re performing at work are putting your body under strain? That’s where we come in.
What do chiropractors do?
One of the common misconceptions about chiropractors is that we only treat back pain. But what we are actually concerned with is the effect the spine and nervous system has on your general health.
Chiropractors specialise in the workings of the spine and its relationship to the nervous system. The spine holds the spinal cord which connects your brain to the body, meaning if there’s an issue with the spine, many parts of the body can be affected.
Like doctors, chiropractors spend years at university learning how to diagnose, treat and prevent disorders of the spine. We are a little different in that we use alternative treatments to surgery and drug taking.
What to expect when you visit a Canning Healthcare Chiropractor?
Your initial consult will involve your chiropractor asking about your health history and presenting complaint followed by a chiropractic, orthopaedic, and neuro examination to formulate a working diagnosis of your condition. You may be referred for spinal imaging if indicated after this appointment. Prior to your first treatment your chiropractor will discuss their findings and provide recommendations for care.
For treatment your chiropractor will adjust your spine by applying controlled force or gently moving particular joints. We may also help you with stretches and exercises, provide soft tissue therapies, and offer advice on improving your physical activity and day-to-day movements to ensure recovery and prevent further injury.
