Jasmine Langlands
Integrated Acupuncturist and Bowen Therapist
Education: MAppSc(Acu), BHlthSc(ComplMed), Advanced Diplomas of Naturopathy and Western Herbal Medicine, Diploma of Specialised Bowen Therapy
Experience: Jasmine completed her initial studies in natural medicine and Bowen therapy in 2010. While working part-time as a newly qualified practitioner, she went on to complete the Master of Applied Science (Acupuncture) at RMIT to add to her skill set. After having her first child, she completed the Billings Ovulation Method teacher training, and presented on nutrition and fertility at the National BOM conference in 2017.
Jasmine has recently completed training in Neoclassical Acupuncture, an advanced system of diagnosis developed by Dr. Slate Burris. This system is palpation based, and involves the practitioner pressing points over your abdomen, chest, arms and legs then selecting acupuncture points (often near wrist or ankle) based on the findings from your physical assessment.
The benefits of this style of treatment are:
immediate feedback, both in palpation and change to symptoms (where possible). (For example, if you have shoulder pain, you may experience pain relief and improved range of motion while on the table. Whereas with menstrual related conditions, or pain conditions that come and go, feedback focuses on changes to the abdomen, chest, arms or legs as changes to symptoms require time to observe).
shorter treatment time-frames: issues that may have taken 6-10 sessions to resolve may resolve in 3-5 sessions
more complete treatment, as it addresses the entire system
the practitioner is able to use far less needles within a treatment (compared to other styles), where a treatment may even be completed with only one acupuncture point / needle. This has benefits to the environment and for those who prefer fewer acupuncture needles.
Jasmine understands that health is multi-faceted and requires an integrated approach. She likes to use a range of techniques to provide optimal outcomes for a range of conditions.
Interests: Jasmine is particularly interested in women’s health, as the role of mothers (past, present and future) and care-givers has such a significant impact on the health of their families and broader community.
Jasmine aims to provide you with rest, relief, education and encouragement to be well and enjoy life.
